Start by dissolving the yeast in lukewarm water.
Once dissolved add your butter, basil, salt and the grated cheese. Mix well.
Start mixing in the flour one deciliter at a time until you've mixed in all the flour, then knead the dough for approx. 10 minutes or 5 minutes if you are using a kitchen machine.
Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
After this take the dough out of the mixing bowl and hand knead it for 1-2 minutes before placing it in the baking trays.
Cover again and let rest for another 30 minutes, pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees C.
Once the dough has rested mix the egg and coat the top of the loaves, then place the bread in the middle of the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
